How to change the Instagram icon on iOS and Android
What to know
- On iOS, open the file Abbreviations application and tap Plus (+) > Add action > Open the application > Choose > Instagram.
- Then tap three dot menu > Add to home screen > Instagram icon and select a new icon.
- On Android, use a third-party app such as Icon X Changer to change the Instagram icon.

How to change app icons on your iPhone or iPad
These steps will only work if your device has iOS 14 or later.
Here's how to change the Instagram icon using the Shortcuts app on iOS:

Open Abbreviations application and tap Plus (+) in the upper right corner.

In the Suggestions area for the next action, select Open the application.
If you don't see the Open Application option, you can find it by tapping the Add action and entering Open the application In the search bar.

Get Applicationand then scroll down and select Instagram.

Tap on three dotted lines In the upper right corner.

Get Add to home screen.

In the MAIN SCREEN NAME AND Icon area, tap the icon. image icon to select an image for the icon.

Choose Take a picture, Select imageOr Select file to add your image.

In the New Shortcut field, type Instagram (or any name).

In the upper right corner, tap Add.

To hide the icon of the original app on the home screen, press and hold the icon, then select Delete the application > Remove from home screen.
To remove an application shortcut from the home screen, press and hold the icon, then select Delete the tab > Remove.
How to change app icons on Android
To change icons on Android, you need to use a third-party app. Here's how to change Instagram icons using X Icon Changer:

Download and install X Icon Changer from Google Play.

On the home screen, press and hold background, then select Widgets.

Scroll down and tap Icon changer X.

Press and hold Icon changer X Icon.

When the home screen appears, drag the icon to the desired location and release.

Find and tap Instagram Application.

Select a new shortcut and tap OK. There are many options or you can add your own.

The new icon will appear on the home screen. To remove the original Instagram icon from the home screen, press and hold the app, then select Remove from your home or drag it to Garbage.
