Only users who have been assigned the role of administrator can delete Facebook pages. If you created the page, you are the administrator by default. However, if you are not the one who created the page, you must have permission from another page administrator to become an administrator.

To find out if you are a Facebook page administrator on a computer:

  2. Select the page you want to delete Your pages In the left column.

  3. Choose Settings From the left menu.

  4. Choose Roles of the parties From the left menu.

  4. Choose Settings In the upper right corner.

  6. If you are an administrator, your profile picture and name appear in the Current people section with Admin Label.

Confirm page removal after 14 days

Deleting a Facebook page removes it from Facebook for 14 days, after which you will be asked to confirm the permanent removal. Facebook maintains this 14-day deletion period in case you change your mind and want to reinstate the page.

Once the Facebook page is confirmed deleted, it can never be restored.

Alternatives to deleting the site

Before deleting your site, first consider some alternative options:

  • Instead, undo the publication of the page: revoking the publication of a page makes it inaccessible to the public, including people who have liked it. The only people who can see your page are those with roles on the page.
  • Link the page to an existing similar page: If you are the administrator of another page with a similar name and representation, Facebook allows you to link it to the one you no longer want to maintain.
  • Get a copy of your site's data before you delete it: Get your site's data to have a copy of your posts, photos, videos and site information.

Any of the above actions can be done from the page settings tab. Take a look at Site visibility section to undo the publication of the page, Link posts section to link it to a similar page, or Download page section to download a copy of the page.

You can only download your site from a web browser.

Facebook page vs. Facebook profile

A Facebook page is different from a profile. Your user profile represents you as an individual. It's where you interact with friends and maintain control over the privacy of the information you share. A page is a public representation of a person, place, business, organization or group that others on Facebook can like and follow.
