How to find memories on Facebook

This article explains how to find memories in the Facebook mobile app and on the website. We will also explain how to locate Memories Settings to customize notifications or hide specific people or specific dates in Memories.

About memories on Facebook

Facebook memories can include posts you have shared, Facebook posts where others have tagged you, and Facebook anniversaries when you have friended others. Memories apply to the current date, but backwards, as long as you have a Facebook account.

If you don't see any memories, it means Facebook has nothing to display from that day in the past.

There is no toggle or setting to disable Facebook mentions; however, you can control notifications and hide people or dates, which we will describe below.

Find memories on Facebook mobile app

Although you can often see memories in your feed, you can see those from many years in the Memories section.

1. Open the Facebook app and tap Menu icon in the lower or upper right corner, depending on the device.

   
   

2. Select All Shortcuts below Memories.

   
   

3. If you don't see Memories in the list, scroll to the bottom of the section and tap See more. Then the option should be displayed.

   You will then see memories of "This Day" from previous years.

   
   

Change Facebook memories settings on cell phone

You can change the notifications for your Facebook memories, and prevent specific people or specific dates from being displayed in memories.

1. In the upper right corner of the main memories screen, tap the icon run icon to open the memory settings.

   
   

2. At the top, choose how often you want to receive notifications about memories. You can choose All memories, Overview of major eventsOr Nothing. The most important thing is special memories, such as videos of the ceremony.

   
   

3. Under the Hide Memories option, tap to hide Persons or Dates.

   If you choose People, start typing the name and select the correct one when it appears. Tap the arrow at the top to return.

   If you choose Datesenter a start and end date, and then tap Save.

   You can then exit the memory settings using the back arrow at the top and return to the menu by touching the arrow again.

   
   

Find memories on Facebook page

Just like on a mobile device, you can see Memories in your feed on the Facebook site. But of course, you can also access Memories there.

1. Visit Facebook.com And log in.

   
   

2. Click Home tab in the top navigation.

   
   

3. Choose Memories left.

   
   

4. If you don't see Memories listed, click See more At the bottom of the upper part. Then the memories should be displayed.

   You will see shared Facebook posts on the current day from previous years.

   
   

Change your Facebook memories settings on the web

If you want to change notifications or hide people or dates in your online memories, you can do it as easily as on a mobile device.

1. On the main memories screen, select Notifications On the left. On the right, select All memories, Overview of major eventsOr Nothing.

   
   

2. To hide a person in memories, select Hide people On the left. Start typing the name of the person on the right and select them when they appear in the suggestions. Click Save.

   
   

3. To hide dates in memories, select Hide dates left. Click Add a new date range on the right and select the start date and end date. Click Save.

   You can return to the home screen by clicking the button Home icon in the top navigation.
