The CEO of OpenAI has already confirmed that he is already working on a new language model to replace GPT-3.5. Surprise surprise, it will be called GPT-4!

Rumors suggest that the new model could debut as early as the first quarter of this year. OpenAI has not yet confirmed this. And according to the New York Times multi-billion dollar investor, Microsoft has also refused to confirm or deny the rumor.

GPT-4 is to be the next-generation language model developed by OpenAI. This model will replace GPT-3, which is available from OpenAI Playground.

The technology behind GPT-3 is now being used in the infamous chatbot GPT Chat and the OpenAI Dall-E2 graphics generation model. So we know that GPT-4 will appear this year. But what features will it have?

What are the forecasts for GPT-4?

During a recent podcast featuring OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, hints were revealed about the potential development of GPT-4. When asked about the future of AI, Altman stated that a multimodal model will be available in the near future.

In this case, it may refer to GPT-4 (or not). But what is a multimodal model? It refers to a model that can work with multiple media, such as text, video and audio.

This technology can open up a wide range of opportunities for companies and improve the way they streamline their processes.

Of course, Twitter users have something to say about GPT-4. One user claims that the model will be built using 100 trillion parameters. In comparison, GPT-3 was built using 175 billion parameters.

Altman himself quickly denied the rumor in an interview with StrictlyVC. He claims that the idea is completely "ridiculous." So that's the end of it.

Another function to consider is self-learning. Altman has apparently proposed the possibility of an artificial intelligence model that can learn and improve on its own. At the moment, GPT-3 doesn't have this capability, but it may be something we'll see on GPT-4.

To get some information, an artificial intelligence model that can learn will first have to be developed by engineers. Once launched, the model will automatically update and improve based on its interactions, becoming a better version of itself.

Will there be a GPT-4 Chat?

Many people on the Internet are confused about the naming of OpenAI's language models. To be more specific, GPT chat and GPT-3. To make matters worse, both are very advanced language models. However, they have several differences.

GPT-3 is an extremely powerful language model. This model can be customized to perform any specific task, such as writing essays, summarizing text and more. To access this model, you need to use the OpenAI API.

On the other hand GPT Chat is a less powerful variant of GPT-3. It was created and optimized to act more like a chatbot - the model has the ability to communicate and talk to the user to generate his request.

Imagine it this way - GPT Chat is built on the foundation of GPT-3. In addition, to use the GPT Chat, OpenAI created a dedicated website and user interface for the AI bot.

Now that this has been clarified, we can answer the question. Strictly speaking, there will be no GPT-4 chat in the future. However, there are rumors that OpenAI is developing a fourth-generation language model, called GPT-4.

Given that GPT Chat is still in the feedback phase, there is a possibility that GPT-4 algorithms could be implemented in a later version of the model. Microsoft has confirmed that GPT-4 will appear in the week beginning March 13.. This is just our prediction, however, OpenAI has not stated this.

What is the status of GPT-4?

At the moment, the GPT-4 has not yet been released. However, there are rumors that the model could go on sale as early as the first quarter of this year.

Many have speculated, including the New York Times, that Microsoft's latest version (Bing AI) is supported by GPT-4. Given that the new artificial intelligence-based search engine is currently accepting wait-list candidates, it would be reasonable to assume that the new model is likely to be available within the next month.

Final thoughts

OpenAI is keeping very tight lips about potential features and the release date of the next-generation language model. GPT-4 may come out much later than fans hope. CEO Sam Altman has already stated that they will not release the AI model until they are sure it is safe.

To be honest, we don't know what to expect from the new model. If the rumors of a release date are true, we hope to hear from OpenAI soon.
